When Dr. Berg Visited the Estate and Recommended Laudemio
July 15, 2026
Dr. Eric Berg has built one of the world’s largest online health audiences around nutrition, metabolic health and how the food we eat affects the body. He is also the author of The 7 Principles of Fat Burning and has spent years highlighting the importance of food quality, nutrition and extra virgin olive oil.
When he visited Fattoria San Michele a Torri in the Chianti hills outside Florence, it was not part of a paid campaign.
Dr. Berg chose to visit the estate himself.
After the visit, he decided to share the experience with his own audience. In a dedicated video, he spoke about visiting an estate in Italy that produces an exceptional extra virgin olive oil and highlighted Laudemio from Fattoria San Michele a Torri.
From Health to the Olive Grove
For Dr. Berg, olive oil is about more than taste. Food quality and nutrition are central to his work, and he has devoted considerable attention to extra virgin olive oil and what separates exceptional quality from the ordinary.
At Fattoria San Michele a Torri, he experienced where Laudemio comes from.
The estate has been certified organic since 1993 and is home to around 40,000 olive trees in the Chianti hills outside Florence.
The olives are harvested at a carefully selected stage of ripeness and processed within 12 hours of harvesting in the estate’s own modern mill, equipped with a Mori TEM system. The fresh oil is immediately filtered to preserve as much of its freshness, aroma and character as possible.
Laudemio is the estate’s finest selection, with polyphenol levels typically ranging from around 500 to 700 mg/kg.
